Fulham are being linked with Ipswich's Kieran McKenna to fill their vacant managerial role. Marco Silva officially left Fulham after five years at Craven Cottage, with the Portuguese expected to replace Real Madrid-bound Jose Mourinho at Benfica. Silva leaves Fulham after getting the side promoted to the Premier League in his first season and subsequently overseeing four seasons of stability as The Cottagers re-established themselves as a top flight club. His departure comes after Fulham gave Silva a substantial offer to remain at the club, understood to be worth £8 million-a-year on a three-year deal. There was also supposedly a €150 million war chest available to Silva if he stayed in west London, with the club trying to make the step up from stability to challenging for European football. Fulham are now tasked with the unenviable task of trying to replace Silva, with growing uncertainty around the futures of both Harry Wilson and Raul Jimenez. McKenna has just sealed Ipswich's second promotion to the Premier League in three years, and is widely regarded as one of the most promising young managers in English football. He took over at Portman Road in 2021 in his first managerial job and has become a cult figure in East Anglia. But rumours have begun surfacing that he would be interested in making the move to Fulham, with the club established in the Premier League and seemingly ambitious to attempt to make the jump into European competition. That could make it an enticing offer for McKenna, who will once again have a task on his hand to keep Ipswich in the Premier League, such is the strength of the league.
